Application Deadline is January 15 for Each Year.


FFNCC has established a grants and scholarships fund (called FFNCC Special Fund). The fund is open for applicants from the Washington Metropolitan Area who meet the specific criteria set by FFNCC. The criteria and procedures for application are given below. The awards will be announced in April of each year.

Donations may be made to the fund. Any contribution to the FFNCC Special Fund is tax free as FFNCC is a non-profit association recognized by the IRS.


Specific Criteria Applicable to FFNCC Special Fund:


       1. The applicant should preferably be a member of FFNCC and/or a resident of 

        the FFNCC membership area, comprising the Washington, DC, Metropolitan 

        Area, as defined by the U.S. Census, and the rest of Maryland and Virginia. 

        Applications from residents of Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia will 

        also be given priority;


       2. The application is supported by a letter from an FFNCC member;


       3.  Priority would be given to:


Language, research and educational studies relevant to Finnish and Finnish-  American culture, with preference given to studies in Finland by U.S. students


Presentations, projects and performances that promote Finnish and Finnish-American culture in the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Area.


Applicants may be individuals or not-for-profit entities.
