Event:  Vappu 2024

When:  Wednesday, May 1st, 6 - 9pm

Where: Central Arlington, VA


You are invited to celebrate Vappu with Finlandia Foundation members! This is a casual potluck where we can enjoy fellowship, a nice beverage and hopefully the weather!

The chapter will provide beverages and main dish meats or makkara, chicken or pork and we ask everyone attending to bring a side, salad or dessert to share!


This is a FREE ticketed event with a limit of 75 attendees.


Event:  Sauna on the River - Charlottesville

When:  April 27-28th

Where: Charlottesville, VA

Road Trip/Day Trip to Rivanna River Sauna in Charlottesville for an authentic Sauna outing, complete with jumping in the river! Rivanna outfitters also has kayaks and other outdoor activities. You must call/pay ahead to make your own reservations for
sauna. Mention your Finlandia Foundation Membership!

Event:  Norfolk NATO Festival

When:  Saturday, April 20th, 10am - 3pm

Where: Downtown Norfolk, VA


Find a seat near the announcers stands on Waterside Drive and on Granby Street so you don’t miss any of the features!

Come watch the Parade of Nations @ 10 a.m. and show your Finn pride! Then visit the International Village from 11:30-3 and explore the heritages of the NATO members through performance, art, cuisine, etc.

Event:  Baltimore FFN Spring Celebration

When:  Saturday, April 20th, 2pm

Where: Monkton, MD


Please feel free to bring your friends or friends of your children. We want
to spread the good news of our wonderful, Happiest Country in the World, Finland, to the communities that we are part of. Sima, munkit, virpominen, ylioppilaslakki – and crafts & balloons! We’ll wrap Easter
and Vappu (May 1) in one happy afternoon!


Event:  The 2024 Kalevala Dinner

When:  Friday, March 8, 2024, 6:30 - 10 pm

Where: The Embassy of Finland

     3301 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC


Tickets: $80 per person for FFNCC members, $100 per person for Non-members

Join us in celebrating Kalevala, presenting the 2024 Finlandia Foundation performer of the year Miska Kajanus, a Finnish-American actor, comedian and filmmaker from Finland and now based in Los Angeles. Miska will present a theatrical one-man show about his journey from Finland to America.

Includes Finnish cuisine catered by Chef Mikko, a DC local restaurant owner.

Dress code is business or cocktail attire.

Event:  National Sauna Week Celebration

When:  Wednesday, February 21st 

Where: SpaWorld Centreville, VA

Join us in celebrating national sauna week with a morning/lunch outing to SpaWorld in Centreville, VA.  SpaWorld boasts separate male/female

bathing areas with hot and cold water bade pools and 7 different poultice rooms (each with

healing qualities), a sauna, as well as a delicious authentic Korean restaurant.

Event:  The Twenties Musical (Virtual)

The Twenties Musical- Don Vierimaa, a member of Finlandia Foundation, National Capital Chapter, produced a musical, “The Twenties, Remembering Bix Beiderbecke, cornet player”, in January 2023 which some members of Finlandia Foundation attended.


A video was recorded of

Join us as the American Scandinavian Association will host Finlandia Foundation President, Anne-Mari Paster. She will speak about the Foundation's ongoing programs and projects including "our" new museum and the Saving Finland in America initiative.
